I've always loved these colourful  birds, with their beautiful plumage and kaleidoscope of colour they are certainly a feast for the eyes. I wanted to depict them with a very minimal background to enable their true splendour to sing.

A new series for 2024 - I love Silver Birch trees, their monochrome trunks are amazing and any animal or bird that I add really pop making their colour look even more vibrant. A nod to my greeting cards where I mix black and white images with brightly painted accents.

I'm a frog girl - I've always loved them, especially the teeny dart frogs, they are too cute and come in an array of stunning colours and patterns.

Something a little different for me. I was asked to design an Easter tea towel, I then got the bug for painting food! - As always it was the colours that attracted me but also the painterly quality worked really well when reproduced onto cotton. The original paintings are for sale as are the tea towels.

It was inevitable that I would paint my pets, they have always been such a big part of my life.  I painted my dogs (past and present) and it snowballed from there. I now take commissions and have mostly painted dogs, although I am holding out for a Lama or maybe a Chameleon....there's still time! 

Well, I suppose this is where it all started.  I spent many years knuckling down at a 9-5 job but always wanted to someday concentrate on my art full time, during these 'sensible' years I always created an annual Christmas card, people would question why I wasn't doing more, so added birthday cards to my repertoire and then started to do the odd painting, it got to a point where I had to keep painting - it completes me, I love to paint it makes me feel alive - so here we are I now paint full time and am loving every minute.
